The CRUEY line is obscure before Christopher. There are several references to Christina or Christiana CRUEY/CREWEY in the Revolutionary War Era, but we have no idea if or how we link to her, as her children were called CRUEY and WALTERS. Her's is an interesting story, though. Legend has it that her husband, George WALTERS, so enraged her with his Tory activities that she threw him out of the house and took back her maiden name. Her sons adopted both. Christina donated land that helped form Christiansburg,VA. This puts her near where Christopher lived in Washington County in 1813 and later.
